Help for Heroes has more than £45million sitting idle waiting to be spent on injured troops, it emerged last night.
According to publicly-available accounts for last year, £21.3million is languishing in a bank account – the rest held in investments and stocks.
The sum is nearly 20 per cent of the total amount the forces charity has raised since it was set up in 2007, it can be revealed.
