It’s an illusion that anyone had those rights in the first place. I think what we are seeing now are people attempting to secure them – for the first time around – and the response by those (police) who have always denied said rights from the very beginning. It’s along the lines of: the system isn’t broken, the system never worked.
It’s double scary for a black man to be doing that, too. They’d shoot him right on camera and get away with it. Brave, nonetheless!
